Her parents gained fortune from printing books, which left them not as well-to-do as other nobles... so to make up for it, Nalia took to the streets and began performing with other wandering children of the Brume in little mock-up stage plays. The performances gained some coin, but also sparked a deep love of narrative and theatre in Nalia! This love was fostered by friends and parents alike, who eventually motivated Nalia enough for her to begin writing plays and poetry professionally. Since then, Nalia has written thirteen original plays, published three poetry anthologies, and directed over twenty different productions for live viewing in Ishgard!...and believe it or not, that's just where our tale begins!Chapter 1: Tales of TravelAfter widespread success over in Ishgard, she boldly chose to give up her celebrity status to instead travel to the Eorzean city-states now that they were in more open contact with Ishgard. Her plan was to find new inspirations amongst the adventurers of the lands, hoping to strike a new narrative goldmine. For a year or so, Nalia just explored the continent on her own: she tailed adventurers, interviewed warriors, and researched legends of all kinds of cultures!Eventually her travels led her to a new home of sorts in the New Saronian Embassy, a group of explorers and adventurers who united under the principles of a long-forgotten nation to help the world at large. Emboldened by the conviction of her new comrades, Nalia began to assist them and become their newest member! All seemed to be going well, for the most part... but things would change rather soon.Chapter 2: Auspicious EncountersOne day, in the most coincidental of ways, Nalia happened upon a traveling merchant with a cart full of adorable animals! At the time, Nalia was eager to pick up a few animals for her latest performance, so she began to chat with the merchant. However, an attack on the cart released a plethora of the animals into the wild... and what's worse, they were no mere animals. Each one was an auspice: an animal with many years to it's name, which of course comes with immense power. Not every auspice is all-powerful, but Nalia had the odd luck of finding a small fox which just happened to have immense magical strength. The fox was injured, however... it needed a place to hide. In a split-second decision, the fox decided to merge with Nalia and co-habitate in her body! After this, Nalia changed: on her head were a pair of fluffy fox ears, and that wasn't all. Now, Nalia could access the powers of this nine-tailed auspice, albeit without much control. Such a strange situation caused Nalia to get into plenty of trouble, not to mention get kidnapped at one point by a mad scientist named Velia! Thankfully, Nalia was never alone: even as she bumbled through each wild scenario, the Saronians were there to assist her.If only things could stay so positive...Chapter 3: Of Memory and MortalityNalia was overjoyed at how well her life was going: she was now running a new Othard branch of Saronia, working on a bevy of new plays and ballads, all while being engaged to marry soon! Things seemed as positive as ever for Nalia......however, there was a problem. The auspice within Nalia was far too powerful for her to handle: it had been sleeping within her this whole time just to avoid overtaking. However, the auspice was starting to wake up, and Nalia could feel it... soon, she would die. What happened next... is a long, strange story. To the outside world... Nalia just vanished for months. Not just physically, but from memory: every scrap of memory involving Nalia had just been altered or erased! It seemed Nalia would never return... but her friends were far too clever to let things lie. They figured out that Nalia was missing from their memories, and through teamwork and perseverance they were able to solve the mystery!Again, the details are rather lengthy... but the forces of Saronia had to dive into the land of Memoria, a space between Shards where the memories of all living beings are kept. In their work, the group was able to restore Nalia as well as all the world's memories of her. Things were back to normal! With Nalia safe and sound, it was just a matter of ensuring her health: using every resource at their disposal, Nalia's friends were able to extract the nine-tailed auspice from within Nalia and allow her to live a full life!...only the fox ears remained. It seemed her exposure to the auspice's overwhelming aether had changed her very genetic makeup. Nalia was no longer a hyur, but instead a new foxy race entirely! She acquired a new and mysterious power... it allowed her to create illusions, trick the senses, and dazzle anyone at a moment's notice! Not that she couldn't do that before with her innate charm, but now she could do it with magic too!Chapter 4: The Show Must Go OnNowadays, Nalia still works to help her friends whenever she gets any free time. She was missing for quite some time... adjusting has been difficult. Her friends felt like different people now, and even her engagement had ended (thankfully, it was mutual!). Even so, she's determined to help her friends again all while putting on a show for the world once more.Plenty more troubles came and went... she fought an evil twin (twice!), assisted in clearing some treason charges pointed at her loyal and innocent friends, rescued her bestie from becoming a primal... the list goes on!Nowadays, Nalia is an idol: with her kitsune charm and her illusory magic enhancing the show, she's a worldwide sensation now that Eorzea is in a (sort of) time of peace. As her fame grows, so does the excitement in her life... what comes next? Only time will tell!Published Works/Music in chronological order:The Slayer and the Saints - Nalia's first published work of note tells a reimagining of both Saint Reinette during her time wielding the original Gae Bolg and Saint Reymanaud's appointment as the true archbishop. Originally almost a banned work due to the saucy depiction of Reinette and Reymanaud as lovers, the three-act play interweaves two very different lives that end up on the same path towards piety and charity.Hearts of Stone - A retelling of the tale of Saint Daniffen and his grand journey to slay a basilisk. Highly regarded for adherence to historical accuracy while adding in elements such as intrigue and romance, the lengthy epic poem is still often sold all across Eorzea as a modern classic.Seasons Lost to Time - a poetry collection that is more often appreciated and sold in Ishgard than across the rest of the continent, Nalia captures the essence of the Ishgardian experience and ideals through a tableau of poetic language framed around the four seasons. Creating a central thematic thread of shared longing for change in Ishgard (a strong sentiment at the time of publication), the poems within evoke a sense of longing for many elements of life under the guise of the seasons themselves. The Noble Knight's Noble - A return to form after her poetic works as well as a holiday-tinged piece, this play is a comedy about a hard-working woman from the Brume that clawed her way into nobility... only to risk it all after meeting the knight of her dreams on All Saint's Wake Eve. She has one magical day to choose between two paths: the lavish life of nobility, or the everlasting love of a dashing and pure-hearted knight.A Murder of Dragons - The first full novel written by Nalia centers on an iteration of the Heavens' Ward as they are faced with a mystery. A dragon came to the walls of Ishgard as a defector, hoping to apparently aid in ending the conflict once and for all. As the Heavens' Ward is dispatched to meet with the dragon, they find him already dead... and one of them is the killer. The twists and turns are still upheld by many fans as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' reading experience, one that should never be spoiled!Heroes of Eld: An Ode to the Saints of Eorzea and Beyond - A well-received collection of shorter stories, plays, and poems all centered around various saints and heroic figures from other cultures. The figures that are discussed include the first pirates of Limsa Lominsa told in a short story, the charitable work of Adama Landama shown humorously in poetic style, a traditional Doman parable called "The Turtle and the Great Beauty" written in pseudo-accurate style to Doman performance art, and many others.Various Ballads - For a time, Nalia performed a collection of ballads on a tour of Eorzea, some being covers of famous works with adjustments while others were wholly original. Due to poor sales at the performances, these ballads have never been published in a collectible format.Creation: How We Came to Be - A series of short, one-act plays depicting the various creation myths of a myriad of cultures. The final play is a two-act piece depicting many of the protagonists of the original myths coming together to form the various societies and territories known today. While not as well-received as her older works, some of the creation myth plays are used in formal history education due to their surprising accuracy. The last two-act section is not nearly as accurate, however, and is seen as a low point in the collection.Nine-Tailed Dreams Nalia's debut orchestrion roll is her most recent work, being another large tonal departure from her prior works. With songs like More, More, More and In Your Dreams bringing sex appeal and empowerment, Nalia has grown an all-the-more immense following. Other songs tackle varying themes and issues, such as Into Me depicting her struggles with romantic partners and their lack of commitment or the surprise-hit song No Visions acting as a rallying cry in fighting against not only evil, but self-doubt. Nalia is currently on tour, with the huge success of her tour likely ensuring more musical works in the future.Coming Soon: To Save Saronia - A new three-act tragedy depicting the fight for and fall of the ancient kingdom of Saronia. Nalia has been working on this play for a long while, as mentioned in various interviews, but it is unknown to the public if the play is still being worked on or if it will even be finished at all given how long it has been.Gallery:

Beyond her initial abilities, Elissa has hyperthymesia (a condition in which you recall every single moment of your perceived life in perfect detail)... but even with all of this, the traumatic event of her parents' passing caused a sort of mental block to form. She would not realize her true potential for many years to come.Over time, Elissa learned the art of Summoning: however, her 'egis' were typically a lot weaker and more specific than most. While some may summon a carbuncle, she would conjure a goblin or a stuffed toy to fight with. He transformed himself into a primal, Madeen, one powered by the collective belief in the Echo that many common folk share. Elissa, forced to step up and fight, tapped into her truest potential: by recalling the memories of a myriad of past events via her Echo, she could calculate and formulate arcanist feats that no one had ever seen before. She summoned a creation that rivaled the towering Madeen, blow for blow, until he was defeated and the day was saved.Elissa's father passed away soon after, but not before expressing how proud he was of his adoptive daughter. With this pride fueling her, Elissa uses her newfound strength for good.Nowadays, Elissa fights to heal others and battle back against the lingering forces of despair that still roam the lands. Basaan, despite differences in personality to Ariq, was an excellent pair in combat: Basaan and Ariq were known as the Sword and Shield of the Himaa, respectively. With their combat prowess, Ariq served as an excellent shield for his brethren. However, the village had a visitor one day: a strange woman named Velia, who offered the Himaa warriors a special concoction of chemicals. With it, they would become unstoppably strong!Ariq and Basaan, along with many loyal warriors, tried the chemical cocktail to find success: they were stronger, faster, and tougher than any other of their kind. As Velia lived with the Himaa, she even made Ariq a customized gunblade, a weapon of her Garlean people. Just as Ariq mastered his new weapon and felt at peace with their visitor... disaster struck. Most of the warriors fell in battle, but not from injuries. Instead, their bodies rejected the chemicals within, killing them all. Because of this, the tribe was attacked harshly: Yesui, Ariq's wife, was slain in the chaos. Worse yet, Ariq could not find the culprit: Velia had fled the village, with Basaan in tow. Basaan always wanted to see the outside world, and was easily wooed by Velia because of this.Five years passed...The coming times led to a painful recovery for the tribe, but a recovery nonetheless. Even so, Ariq was lost to the world: the two people he cared for most were gone in his life, and he felt lacking in purpose. So, at the encouragement of his tribe, Ariq set out to the outside world, in search of Velia so he could finally enact his revenge. This was over six months ago: in the modern day, Ariq did indeed find his revenge against Velia. By happenstance, he found himself swearing an oath to protect someone he met from Eorzea... and that oath led him to Velia by mere coincidence. Velia had plans to develop a sort of super-soldier serum, and the Himaa warriors were simply testing the prototype batch. When Ariq caught up, Velia was using auspices to create her concoctions, and needed to be stopped! To do so, Ariq was forced to fight his own brother, Basaan, in one-on-one combat... and while Ariq was victorious, he lost a part of himself that day.Velia was stopped on that same day, and it seemed Ariq could be at peace. He tried to stay in Eorzea, falling in love with the one he swore to protect... but it was a foreign land, and his tribe called to him. So, with a heavy heart, Ariq said goodbye to his beloved and left for the Azim Steppe once again. He remains there now, a veritable super-soldier charged with protecting his tribe from danger. However, if his Eorzean friends call for him in need of aid... they can be sure Ariq would be ready to be their shield once again.Gallery:
K'naali JesalEssential Info:Gender/Sexuality: Female/Pansexual
Nameday: 23rd Sun of the 2nd Astral Moon (3/23, 27 Years Old)
Nationality/Race: Miqo'te Seeker, born of the K tribe but raised unaffiliated with them
Occupation: Voidsent Hunter
Personality: Straight-to-the-Point, Easily Agitated, Outwardly Stoic, Stubborn, Caring... via Tough Love
Relationship Status: TakenFun Facts:FFXIV Class Analogue: Archer/Rogue
D&D Class Analogue: Ranger
D&D Alignment: True Neutral
Greatest Weakness/Flaw: K'naali was never taught how to read or use many modern conveniences, so anything beyond hand-crafted woodland tools are often too much for her to want to use.
Favorite Food: Fire-Roasted Boar
Hobby of Choice: LeatherworkingNote: If you're curious about anything else, just ask!Backstory:K'naali, to her knowledge, never at any point lived with the 'K Tribe' she was supposedly from: instead, she was a wildling.K'naali grew up in the Twelveswoods, living in makeshift tents with her Uncle K'reloh. He would always tell her three things:
1. Don't trust the K Tribe.
2. Don't trust outsiders.
3. Kill all voidsent.
K'naali held to the tenets, and still mostly does to this day. When she questioned why the K Tribe should not be trusted, Uncle K'reloh would just say 'if I trusted them, you'd be dead."That was enough for K'naali.Growing up, Uncle taught K'naali everything she'd need to live. K'naali could hunt and forage for her own food, create her own tools or shelter, and even learned to enhance her sense of smell beyond most Miqo'te as to sniff out voidsent. K'naali learned from him until the age of 15... after that, he passed away from illness. From that point on, K'naali lived alone in the woods. She found shelter in an old, crashed boat on the lakeside, which is where she resides to this day. Her only companion for a long time was a dog named Kiff, discovered as a puppy one day as K'naali hunted. The tiny corgi-like dog wasn't much of a hunter, but he was loyal nonetheless.Of course, to complete her calling as a voidsent hunter, K'naali couldn't always remain in the woods. Eventually, she ventured out and began looking for work. She took jobs from occult shops, people in need, and even the Grand Companies from time to time, all with the focus of hunting down voidsent. Over time, that led to some surprising developments...Firstly, she met a scholar named Iphile. Being not one from the Twelveswoods, the poor girl was lost... until K'naali arrived. The two of them, despite K'naali's stubborn resistance to outsiders, became friends... then after that, became lovers. Now K'naali still remains in her isolated forest home, but would always get visits from her beloved. After that came a child... not that K'naali gave birth or anything! No, she found a girl named Catrine, stranded out in the Coerthan wastes. K'naali was there on a mission, tracking down cultists who intended to summon a powerful voidsent to their beck and call. The cultists planned on using poor Catrine, an orphan from the Brume, in the sacrifice... but the very voidsent they seeked to summon arrived and slaughtered them all... except for Catrine. Upon finding the scene, K'naali couldn't bring herself to abandon the poor girl... so she offered her a place to stay. That was a few years ago... nowadays, K'naali and Catrine are surrogate Mother and Daughter to one another respectively. K'naali and Iphile made sure to get Catrine into modern society, where she could learn magic and live a normal life... no one should be forced to live like K'naali did, after all. However, K'naali visits rather often to support her daughter, and will continue to do so. Her voidsent-hunting continues on to this day, and likely will until K'naali loses the strength to lift her bow. At least now... she has a family to share the burden with.Gallery:
VeliaEssential Info:Gender/Sexuality: Female/Asexual
Nameday: 21st Sun of the 4th Umbral Moon (8/21, 30 Years Old)
Nationality/Race: Garlean Hyur
Occupation: Former Scientist of the Garlean Empire, Currently Imprisoned
Personality: Calculating, Opinionated, Assured, Snarky, Intelligent, Once Amoral... but Not Anymore
Relationship Status: SingleFun Facts:FFXIV Class Analogue: Machinist
D&D Class Analogue: Artificer
D&D Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Greatest Weakness/Flaw: Velia tends to want to hide her true feelings on most matters, making her a bit hard to talk to sometimes.
Favorite Food: Garlic Bread
Hobby of Choice: TinkeringNote: If you're curious about anything else, just ask!Backstory:The Garlean Empire is a cold place to grow up, regardless of what side of it you grow up on. For Velia, it was a way of life: victory by any means.Velia may have taken that expression in a different way than most Garleans. To her, the constant warring was pointless. Garlemald was strong enough to survive on what it now had, and yet forces still pushed in to invade Eorzea even post-calamity. Velia simply saw no reason to prolong both sides' strife. So, in a leap of faith, she fled her station in Yanxia and slipped into the Azim Steppe. She did not go alone, however: Velia was working on something, a way to turn the tide and stop the war. By extracting the aether from others into a precise alchemical compound, Velia could produce a potion that would enhance the user's physical and aetherial strength. She concocted a large sample set before finding the Himaa tribe, a group of Xaela out in the plains of the Azim Steppe. Velia freely allowed the warriors there to use the concoction, thinking it would be safe. She was wrong. As it turns out, her concoction only worked if the aether used in the potion matched the aspect of the aether of the user. Due to this, many of the Himaa warriors died. Velia, realizing she would be killed for this, fled the tribe... but not before one loyal follow, a Xaela named Basaan, followed her out to assist in her dream of ending the war.Velia then traveled overseas, this time aiming for Eorzea proper. On the way, she attempted to find a new way of making her potion more stable and safe... and found a method, albeit a morally dubious one. Auspices, animals with magic powers that lived for thousands of years, were a wellspring of flexible aether. By capturing and draining auspices of their aether, Velia could make more and more stable versions of her potion. Sadly, they still had disasterous effects: anyone that drank the potion, for example, would simply combust into ash upon dying. Even with these risks, Velia attracted those who would follow her either on ideals or want of power, and would continue to steal auspices and make more potions as much as she could. Her goal, ironically, was to help Eorzea: she wished to preset the serum to the Grand Companies as a way to bolster their forces and have a fighting chance of ending the war. However, her moral missteps and auspice abuse was discovered eventually, and after Velia kidnapped a human/auspice hybrid for experimentation, her friends arrived to stop the potion-making once and for all.Velia was imprisoned, and still remains as such... not just physically held back, but mentally as well. Once caught, the weight of her actions sunk in... and while she could not restore those that died because of her, Velia could at least attempt to make amends. Nowadays, she works with her captors to make various gadgets only previously dreamed of in Eorzean society, all in hopes of regaining her freedom and repaying the moral debt she owes.No one knows what Velia would do once free... but for the time being, she is doing her best to make amends.Gallery:To Be Added Soon!
